Had a lovely little weekend with mother and father to stay, with a trip to hastings posh jumble sale, a potter about post firey lewes and a chilling trip to the sunday market....here is what I got for a few measly pounds...A terrifying teacosy, a deckchair for my bedroom and a little light reading....expect to see strange animals and sparkly things from mother.
Managed to catch the last day of the Skin exhibition at the Wellcome Trust...it made me feel a little queasy in parts but I went to see the old tattoos which I found and loved. Lovely and weird naiive drawings...
I went to see the new shoe gallery at Selfridges yesterday with Millie and Darrin....it was ok until we stumbled across this photobooth which was supposed to encourage you to choose your favourite shoe and be photographed with it....we had fun and forgot about the shoes....
There was a great window display by Lernert and Sander though which you can see HERE or go and see it yourself at the store!
we get to go to Whitby museum in November. I just went on the website and I am SO EXCITED TO GO. I expect the last time I went I moaned of boredom but now I can't wait to see the hand of glory, the social history collection and the jet makers models!
(and in fact just looking forward to a day wandering around whitby in general!)
I have been dying to visit Anthropologie in London and today finally got there. Full of great fashion and interiors products but the wow factor is the styling and in the Regents Street shop the huge "green" wall ( a vertical surface planted up). It didn't disappoint! See some of the products on the web site www.anthropologie.eu. I will be checking out the New York store in the Autumn.
After spending a week walking around Kircudbright, Gatehouse of Fleet, Garlieston, Anworth, seeing Trevor Leat building the man (or was it woman?) for the wickerman festival, and spending a week trawling 2nd hand bookshops for a dictionary of superstitions, it seemed appropriate to watch 'The Wickerman' that was filmed in all those places, and displays some seriously weird superstitions at that! Given me some ideas for future projects..
